Dyson used to be a fairly good place to work, but every year it has gotten significantly worse. There have been far too many empty promises that leadership pretends to care about regarding what employees want and ask for regularly to improve things. Instead of leadership actually doing those things they seem to make decisions that make the current issues in question twice as bad. Leadership globally and locally will work people into the ground with no recognition, no significant pay increases, and will refuse to give you any additional resources to actually succeed, or support you with the things you ask for to make your work situation better. By the time the employee has had enough they then wonder what they could be doing instead despite employees asking for help for years.
There used to be some decent perks that made working at Dyson a little more bearable despite the constant chaos, but they recently announced for the US that we’re going back to 5 days in office while also taking away our flexible Fridays which have been in place for 9 years. Somehow they got even less flexible than they were pre-COVID and there are now zero incentives to working at Dyson in the US office. All because they want to claim to be a collaborative work environment and culture that is “fun” and “exciting.” Meanwhile, most teams stick to their own groups of people, don’t talk to other departments unless they need something, and 90% of the “collaboration” is happening via email or teams because a majority of us don’t need to talk to someone in person to get work done. There is no culture here and moral is as low as it’s ever been. Getting a limited selection of a discount on only 3 products a year ( and only one from each category) is never going to be worth working at this soul sucking place. Do not do it.
