Pros

The engineers that are working here are all competent. Coworkers are friendly and approachable, they are willing to teach and share information. Immediate manager cares about us but many things out of their range of influence. Opportunity to design and get direct feedback from architects, able to learn a lot as Pull Requests are reviewed by experienced engineers. A good place to learn about how a large software project is managed. Opportunities to be exposed to a large codebase to pick up the ability to understand and develop it. The workflow process is improving, using Agile/SaFe with a good product manager who prioritizes work meant that workload is usually fair. Compensation is about average but low if you consider the tech sector like grab, shopee, bytedance, facebook, google Overall it is a great place as a stepping stone to improve technical skills by learning alongside great engineers on the job and no more than that.

Cons

Leadership always is incoherent in what they say and do. A good example is how they claim our safety is the top priority yet unofficially forced people back to the office. This implies that they do not trust their employees. Promises are broken, do not rely on what they promise in an interview. Make sure you are satisfied with the contractual terms rather than empty promises, be prepared for many psychological contract breaches. They said that they want to develop talent yet no real development plan is set up. Every month there would be a monthly meeting which is good to keep everyone up to date but in the QnA, there is always a comment on how glassdoor reviews are bad, The answer is always vague about trying to increase engagement but no concrete action is taken Management trying hard to recruit talent but does not think about retaining talent.
