Pros

There are a lot of pros working with ETRADE, having the ability to access Morgan Stanley products was also a huge plus. You receive a lot of support for exams etc. lots of benefits and flexibility for extra training (specializations)

Cons

The way we are spoken to violates so many HR policies it’s insane. You will work long hours at a lower pay rate than Morgan Stanley counter parts, ETRADE pays the lowest in the industry but they expect you to navigate the job with zero hiccups. Training is long and adequate, but almost feels irrelevant when managers allow certain things and others don’t. It’s a great company to start out with, but tenure will be short once you're no longer useful. If you love the call center environment and don’t care about micromanagement, this is the job for you. But if you want to have a better entry experience in finance, should probably look elsewhere.

Pros

If you're a people person and enjoy finance and the markets it's a great opportunity to talk about it all day. Opportunity also for a college grad to get licensed and in the door but not a career path for more than a year or two

Cons

Make sure you get you're bonus check before quitting. Last day was 2 days after payout (withing 2 week notice) and countless calls and emails result in a stone wall. They just keep it and tell you eff yourself. All "culture" and "family" propaganda is false and its about bottom line and money. They dont care about you. Upper management will campaign some bs agenda and lower management is clueless so just fuels the bs and then when it's time for you to know what up, it's time. Lies, deceit, refusing payment of earned income. You're a bar code, not a person.

Pros

Good for the resume and beginning a career in finance. The upper level management was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly cared deeply for their employees.

Cons

You are locked into a call center role unknowingly and they do not allow you to switch positions for at least 18 consecutive months, regardless of results. You also will be taking the lowest grade of calls, primarily password resets, etc.
