Pros

- PTO policy is great, 20+ days/year - Healthy life hours, 10+ hours/month for health - Friendly and accepting work environment - Flexible hours

Cons

- For implementation teams at EAB, their metric system is done terribly. Performance is measured based on arbitrary project deadlines, as opposed to client impact. Most performance metrics are out of employees control, leading to inaccurate evaluations of the most hard working employees. - Pay is very low compared to industry standards. There is zero room for pay negotiation, and management will string you along for months before letting you know that raises won’t be given. - Extra work will not be rewarded, unless it falls under the pre-defined metrics management has laid out at the beginning of the fiscal year. - High turnover due to issues mentioned above.

Pros

I feel very lucky to have been hired by EAB as my first job out of college. - People are kind and genuinely care about one another, most people are always willing to lend assistance where they can - Managers provide great support for employees seeking professional development opportunities (including applying to new roles) for early career professionals. In entry to early years, employees are often promoted every 8 months to 1.5 years. - Progressive values are strong. Employees are encouraged to care for their mental health when momentous current events occur. ERG boards do a lot to provide volunteer opportunities and regularly bring in speakers on important topics such as LGBTQ+ allyship in the workplace and feminist issues. - Incredible work-life balance, most teams do not micromanage (so if you get your work done quickly, that's time back in your day). - HealthyLife Hours allow employees to take just an hour or two of PTO at a time for therapy, doctor's appts, exercise, etc., which can be helpful when you don't want to use an entire half day of PTO time. Currently, employees are given 10 HLHs per month. - Employees are often recognized for hard work in department-wide shout out emails and Slack channels.

Cons

Leadership talks a lot of talk about caring about employees but is consistently unwilling to make changes to show this. They continue to stand by a "no negotiation" policy regarding compensation, although they claim this policy does not exist and continue to offer salaries well below market value. Salaries are also not included in job descriptions, despite the fact that acquired DEI consulting company Seramount has published research confirming salary transparency as a best practice for improving diversity (which EAB needs to do and has continually promised to do). Frustration exists at all levels because of such disparities between what leadership says and what they actually do (hint: a random single "mental health day" does not make up for this). Other than being given a couple extra days of PTO, ERG board members are not compensated in any way for their efforts. The logic test candidates must take during the interview process is an unnecessary barrier to employment. Having to verify your results a second time is almost demeaning. Some growing pains can be frustrating or seem unnecessary, but management does what they can to help employees adjust.

Pros

Interesting industry, great people, young culture

Cons

Each and every employee is overworked and underpaid, except for higher ups - the vast majority of whom have not held jobs outside the Advisory Board ecosystem
