Compensation is unacceptably low

Pros

- An option for new grads who are willing to accept a low salary to get a year or two of experience to be able to get a job elsewhere that actually pays them a livable salary. - The culture of corporate BS is pervasive enough that you will have to do less work than you would at a more efficient company

Cons

- For many entry-level roles at EAB, you will make about as much money as you would make working at an Amazon warehouse in D.C. - The folks in HR and payroll are trying their best, but you will need to scrutinize every paycheck to make sure the proper deductions and taxes are coming out - Be prepared to pay more than you ever have for health insurance premiums

Pros

Good place for entry/junior level employees to gain some corporate experience with a company that has regional brand equity. Pay can be decent IF you negotiate well up front, OR if management believes you are thinking of leaving the company (this is well known and talked about among younger employees). Benefits are pretty generous. There's opportunity for advancement if you advocate for yourself.

Cons

Most of senior leadership has been there for decades, and many have never worked anywhere else. New and different ideas are often seen as a threat, and the culture is not welcoming to experienced, professional outsiders. There is little to no support or training from management, and you'll be penalized for seeking help (even from colleagues). Everything you say or do can and will be used against you at some point. There is no accountability and very little communication about expectations. There will be surprises on your review (and that should never happen). Pay and incentive structure laid out in the offer letter may or may not be honored. Beware that the language is slippery and will be manipulated to benefit the company.

Pros

Most co-workers are nice people who want to do well.

Cons

EAB is a mess right now. Employees are unhappy. People are quitting left and right. No one feels supported or listened to.
