Pros

Diverse opportunities in a scientific laboratory environment. Good place to learn about regulatory requirements and gain laboratory skills that can be used to further a career elsewhere.

Cons

Unwilling to invest time and money into young talent. Fairly high turnover rate. Lack of raises and promotions leads to stagnation, and loss of employees.

Pros

Low cost of living in mid-Missouri. Decently equipped laboratory with plenty of variation in the instruments that are available.

Cons

Low pay, and low retention. Constant turnover at lower levels, coupling that with a very poor training system leads to the same mistakes being made over and over again. Unwillingness to have real career plan for most people looking to stay long term. Very often a stepping stone job, or a 'ended up here' kind of job for people relocating to the area for other reasons. The business hasn't grown in over 8 years in terms of employment numbers but still demands increase in profits every year. Current CEO has zero business experience and it really shows (Bucksath has not been CEO since some time in 2015) with poor communication skills and very lackluster decision making.

Pros

Science colleagues are terrific. The work is interesting and you get exposed to many different materials to be analyzed. Very good company to develop technical skills as you search for a better company to grow your career.

Cons

Newest executive team is tasked with only growing profits as they prepare to sell the company. Executives are incentivized based on this. Executives view technical staff as completely replaceable and only as numbers on a spread sheet. A recent executive hire from Sigma has brought a highly experienced and highly valued technical team to its knees as she whittles away senior staff. Last count was over 110 years of valuable company experience gone as she breaks the spirit of just several long term employees. These "numbers" on her spread sheet helped build the company. They backfill this experience with low salaries in order to reduce costs. She did similar damage to Sigma which is why she was hired.
