Solidified in my memory as the worst company I ever worked for
Pros
They hired me with very little experience under my belt.
Cons
I worked here for one week. The job was incredibly boring, but I was very green and eager to please. My last day they asked me to come in early to help with load. I agreed and ended up getting pretty dusty, pulling a thread in my nice pants on the concrete. The reason I recall this is because I was worried about ruining them further while I cleaned the bathroom, which I hadn't been asked to do before. Ten minutes before the end of my shift, in front of several other coworkers I was told it would be my last day. When I asked why, she told me I'd over-brushed the shoes. The manager at Ecco had had me do all the worst jobs my last day, knowing she would let me go, then made sure to do it in front of witnesses. As a manager now, it seems so unkind and unprofessional. But I didn't know any better as it was my first real job. I went on to work retail for a couple more years at another company and won several awards for customer service. Now I make over 100k in tech. And I'll never spend a single cent of it at Ecco.
