      ECS is a great place to work. Excellent benefits. Friendly staff. Room for advancement. Everyone is eager to help out each other. On the job training. Whats there to complain about :-)

      Top Notch Geotechnical Engineering Firm

      Pros

      Variety of projects with complex and varying issues. Involvement in many different areas of Geotechnical engineering (foundation design and analysis, geophysics, slope stability, SOE design, construction materials, etc). Opportunites at ECS are better than any other geotechnical firm in the entire DC Metro Area. You have to work really hard and have a driven work ethic, but you will get farther at ECS than at any other geotech firm.

      Cons

      Very driven and high expectations of workload and weekly expectation of hours in excess of 45 to 54 hours. Can be very difficult to maintain desirable work/home balance. Workplace flexibility is extremely limited and telecommuting is generally frowned upon.

      Pros

      I have been with ECS for over 5 years. ECS has never denied me an opportunity to advance. I am challenged and rewarded. ECS is family, and we all take care of each other and help one another out. The goal is to please our clients, work hard, make money, and have a good time while doing it... and we do it pretty well.

      Cons

      Obviously... every company has room for improvement. In ECS' case, we would all greatly benefit from improving our communication skills.
