Pros

When I first started, leadership was outstanding — communication was clear, expectations were fair, and there was a strong sense of teamwork. My previous supervisors were approachable, consistent, and supportive. The environment felt stable and professional, and I gained valuable experience with Epic and billing workflows that strengthened my skills. Work-life balance was reasonable, and the department functioned well when leadership was transparent and organized.

Cons

After leadership changes and new roles were introduced, everything started going downhill. Communication became inconsistent, and responsibilities grew unclear. Policies began shifting without notice, and the chain of command changed so often that it was hard to know who to go to for direction or feedback. Even when I communicated schedule adjustments and made-up time, that information wasn’t shared correctly within leadership, causing misunderstandings that were never discussed. What was most disappointing was the lack of fairness and professionalism in how they handled terminations. Employees with no disciplinary history or performance issues — people doing their jobs well — were fired on the spot with no verbal or written warning, no chance to clarify, and no opportunity to defend themselves. My direct supervisor was unaware there were even issues and had continued assigning projects and giving positive feedback. Around 2023–2024, a policy was implemented making all decisions final with no right to appeal, which only reinforced that leadership no longer values accountability or fairness. The separation process was just as unprofessional. I was only given a separation letter with no explanation or follow-up support, and when I asked questions about benefits, I was ignored. My final paycheck was delayed because HR and management kept blaming each other for paperwork that wasn’t submitted. It’s heartbreaking to see how much the culture has changed — what used to be a great place to work has turned into one of the most discouraging environments I’ve ever been part of.
