Great Environment, Bad Practices

Pros

Really great environment. Friendly co-workers that are helpful and nice. Lots of fun events. They had a mentorship program where you could ask for help on a topic.

Cons

They essentially deploy directly to production. The only review is by peers looking at the code to say if it seems okay or if you didn't follow any standard practices. There is a QA team but there is no QA environment that it stops at before going into production code so if the team is backed up (as they usually are) some code can go to clients before it's been QA'd. The mentorship and feedback on how to improve wasn't useful.

Pros

As long as MFA and EFC are in bed with each other (aka MFA are board members), there will be work. They're always desperate to hire too.

Cons

This place is equivalent to a 1 star hotel. The inside is drab and musky smelling with dead bugs everywhere (look up in the lights if you're getting a tour.) The product we sell looks like an undead early 90s app. The MS Paint graphics will be the only thing keeping you laughing. Developers will be miserable trying to change or make anything in those apps. You wouldn't stay at a 1 star hotel so why stay at a 1 star job.

Pros

Agree with the other negative reviews about the positives. I left EFC a while ago for my current job and couldn't be happier. You learn to appreciate your current job more after working at EFC.

Cons

It's not a fun place to work. Management needs to be improved upon. Too many yes men running the place. The other negative reviews hit it on the head for everything else.
