Pros

In such a large company, you have the opportunity to learn several of their products. Decent salary and benefits.

Cons

Lots of competition between MIS products. Instead of working together as a team to resolve issues, they play the "blame game" and poor incompetent middle management encourages this behavior. Management seems to be against giving employees training and any kind of outside classes to keep up with technology. Entirely too much favoritism in the company. Employees are not reviewed fairly and are not rewarded for hard work. The majority of middle management is incompetent and do substanially more harm than good for the company. It also appears instead of improving their products, EFI simply buys up all their competition.

Pros

People tend to stay at EFI for a very long time, really I think because of the people they are working with. It's a great team to be a part of. Management is also open to hearing your ideas, just as long as you are willing to step up to drive the solution. People care about their work and take ownership. They are willing to come together as a team to deliver.

Cons

There is always a sense that we don't have budget. It doesn't matter what it is, it's assumed there's no money. This comes from the top. Even when the company was doing really well the purse strings were held very closely. I think that if we invested more in the right areas we would be able to build better solutions, instead of piecing things together with "what we have".

Pros

Good pay and some good individual contributers

Cons

Too little vacation, company doing furloughs (calling them Company Time Off - you take vacation or don't get paid). Bad managers who don't know how to delegate or manage people or projects.
