Pros

The company has its hands in every aspect of software engineering. From hardware design to GUI applications development so if you are not sure what you want to do as an engineer you could try many things here.

Cons

Changing groups if you do want to try multiple things is almost impossible. Old equipment, the company is stuck back in the early 90s. Overall feeling from top management is not lets think about the problem before implementing something but lets do lots of work to show that we are doing lots of work.

Pros

It is the market leader in print and imaging technologies and has a huge applications portfolio, so you could effectively end up working in a lot of areas. The nature of employees is generally very helpful and congenial. ANother important part is, your job cold be generally secure, since it is a niche market with the lone market leader, so it is difficult for its marlket share to get dangerously lower, which means if you are perfporming reasonably well, and if you reasonably visible, your job is definitely safe (though not recession proof), that might be the preference of a family person. Also the onsite day care is helpful for people woith families.

Cons

Huge portfolio leads to wide systems, that were slapped on together to creagte a confusiing mish mash of apps, that weer not properly designed to woek. the company generally swings between two exterme phases of no change in technology approach at all (stagnation) or rash un accounted changes in implementation. Senior management genarlly seems confused on what the future path should be for EFI. There is a high turn over of employees, though there are still about 40 pc people who have been around for more than 4 years. There are bright people but improper plannign leads to poor load balancing of work, and some teams get stressed out with work, while others are sitting idle.

Pros

low work loan. It is more stable than working in small company.

Cons

They force employee to take "company time-off" every year. And ask employee to take holiday when their vacation time is "too high"(but still under the legal limit). Their raise and bonus doesn't occur at the end or beginning of the year, but they have to wait until the 1st quarter is over. The company give out "restricted stock", but they are divided into pieces, and you need to stay in the company 4-6 years to claim all the stocks.
