You can do better than this company

Pros

-Worked with some good people

Cons

-Office was in the middle of nowhere. There were no good restaurants close by. -No career mobility. Even though you do as you're asked and show personal and career growth, there's no promotions. -If they still do peer reviews, they are a waste of time. Some people chose friends to review them rather than internal business contacts to review their work. This leads to inflated review scores. The honest people get screwed over and probably leads to the wrong people getting promoted due to incorrect reviews -Salary increases workers got were a joke, if we got any at all. -Low salaries = poor engineers. You get what you paid for. If you want good engineers making your product, you need to pay and compete for them -Products with known showstopper bugs are still shipped because some VP signed off on it. The reason was because we had a schedule to keep and even though it was half baked, shove it out the door. No one cared what our reputation was, nor about people having a good user experience with our product.

Pros

Not a lot to say that is positive about EFI. Some very people work there and try to do the right things for the business.

Cons

The CA based management team is the worst group of people imaginable. They micro manage everyone and do not provide the necessary support for people to be successful. All of their products have quality issues.

Avoid it

Pros

Some of the people are very friendly and try to make the most of their work day. Some of the managers actually care about the employees and do their best to protect them from being overloaded. They have a beautiful office and do have nice small rewards given to people who show initiative.

Cons

The senior management doesn't understand how their company works or where the issue lie. This is mostly because middle management filters out all of the bad news when reporting up and it creates a lot of confusion in managing projects. It's full of many yes men. There is a heavy culture of blame in the company. Instead of taking a step back and seeing that as a group mistakes were made, the "leaders" are reactionary and try to blame one another to take the fall for it. It's not uncommon to see retaliation when upper management tries to micromanage and people stand up for themselves. I've seen a fair amount of people come out of a room crying when trying to provide counter proposals to an idea. Their plan for growth isn't sustainable. They are stressing their employees by taking on more work and refusing to give them more resources to get it done. Instead of investing in the people they only invest in making the company look good to outsiders. The meetings are usually an exercise in ego boosting for the company and upper management rather than admitting where they went wrong and trying to be transparent in what carefully considered steps they will take to fix things. They ask for their employees to do triple the work than their job descriptions lay out, and they don't pay even half of what other companies offer for similar positions. If you can avoid it, do so.
