As a current employee with over 20 years of experience at EGGER Group, your feedback is valuable. We appreciate your mention of the pros, such as the free Christmas beer, gifts, pension, and health benefits. However, we are concerned about the cons you've highlighted, including poor management, bullying, and a feeling of being just a number within the company. We take these issues seriously and are committed to addressing them. We understand your frustration with the blame game between departments and with your view on the impact of poor management on the work environment. Your advice to management is noted and they have been notified of this review. Pros

Cons

Swing shift, going from nights to days every 2 weeks. With no hope of ever changing it. They were going to change it but decided against it because they weren't willing to pay everybody a base pay of $23 an hour with a $1.50 premium for night shift. They were going to take pay away from people for day shift rather than just make it a $23 an hour base pay. Mind you this is a multi-billion dollar industry. That can't afford to pay their employees a $23 an hour base rate with a standard night and day shift.... Mandatory overtime whenever they shut down. To where you enter a new tax bracket and it inevitably makes it not even worth it. During these shutdowns you will be working in other departments doing other people's jobs that are at a much higher pay rate than you, while they sit around and do nothing or take the easy jobs... Supervisors will neglect to spend money that they need to for the equipment they need to or to have things fixed because their end of the year bonus is dependent on whatever allowance they have left over. There is a massive pay gap between operators and supervisors. On average, operators make anywhere from 25% to 30% the entire income that their supervisors make.... When the operators are what keep the business running... They will want you to cross train and learn new areas, but will not want to compensate you for more knowledge and work. Their idea is that you need to work harder before you get paid more ( with no guarantee of actually ever being paid more ), they don't want to pay you to work harder. They neglect to promote people or give them raises, anytime the topic comes up there's always an excuse, or they'll come up with some new tier system you have to complete in order to get a raise. You should automatically get a raise every single year regardless, if not just a compensate for natural inflation but because it is also incentive. They will also raise the higher on wage, so that new hires are making just as much as the people who have already been there for years. They won't tell you though under the expectation you're not supposed to discuss wages. They participate in the same shady practices that most big businesses, corporations, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, distribution facilities, etc. practice. Effectively trying to maximize their profit while poorly compensating their employees in the name of kaizen... Even though kaizen also incorporates employee satisfaction and compensation. But of course it's misinterpreted and incorrectly used to better serve the company and the people in positions of authority, not the employees affectively making them their money....
