Less work available and promotion opportunities are far and few between

This company and branch used to be excellent, but recent changes have drastically altered the environment. Underwriters are overwhelmed with work, underpaid, and vacancies remain unfilled for months, leading to unmanageable workloads. Employees are hired with certain expectations about workload and travel, but these demands increase significantly. The recent system switch has made it nearly impossible for people to do their jobs effectively. When underwriters voice their concerns, they are often dismissed as being overly dramatic or inefficient. There have been numerous quiet "retirements" and "reorganizations," and the mental health of frontline employees is significantly deteriorating.
