Pros
Flextime is provided allowing you to work either 7-3:30/7:30-4/8-4:30. The Actuarial department was family friendly and understood the needs of parents. I felt appreciated and enjoyed coming to work. The Actuary department is very open and everyone gets along well making it an enjoyable place. Very stable and secure place to work. They do not lay off like neighboring companies do.
Cons
I felt like I did not have much growth opportunity. Working for EMC is a stable work environment and you have job security as long as you do not screw up. However, many people will stay because of job security therefore the chances to move up are limited.
