Best place to waste an engineering degree

Pros

Annual raise, overtime, and nothing else

Cons

Extensive traveling, strong favoritism Having a higher degree is seen as a threat by some managers. You are constantly thrown under the bus. The company tend to assign higher responsibilities to unqualified staff. Everyone is a tester here . Forget about your degree.

Pros

Electric Power Systems provides great benefits and a competitive salary. Many travel opportunities are available if that is something you enjoy. Management operates well and is fairly organized. Plenty of overtime if desired. Large company feel but personal relationships with upper management.

Cons

PTO could be improved on but not bad.

Pay is decent for skilled testers Tons of OT if you want it Great manager in Kansas City Camaraderie between workers Annual raises Company vehicle for personal use (within reason) The benefits gradually improve over time Travel expenses paid + per diem

Cons

Corporate policies are difficult to understand and counter productive Safety policies are questionable, and often ignored Some offices are not well run Too much travel, and key techs will be abused Corporate sales team interferes heavily with local offices HR is a complete mess Recently got sold to an investment company - this has had a negative impact on other testing firms “Training” opportunities are limited and low quality
