Pros
- Challenging and demanding projects keep you interested and on your toes. - Numerous opportunities for client interaction - "Choose your own adventure" style of career path. If you're more interested in the technical side of the business, there is a technical path dedicated to professionals in their field. If client services and project management is more your speed, the project manager/principal consultant route allows for growth in those areas. - Each staff member is valued. Most project managers do a good job at providing feedback and assigning project roles based on strengths, which allows for overall team and project success. - The people are what make ERM great. Morale is generally high and we like to have fun. Work hard, play hard.
Cons
- If strict boundaries are not set, work/life balance can be a bit of a con. Project managers don't expect staff to work outside of normal business hours, but project demands sometimes require a few late nights.
