Pros

I learned so much working at ERM that I doubt I'd have elsewhere. Although it was clear to me that I'd remain junior consultant for almost forever, it satisfied me to be in touch with so many different projects and professional experiences. It seemed that either higher positions were filled by external professionals or ones who were personally connected to the directors and president.

Cons

All I learned at ERM enabled me to grow professionally at other companies. About salaries and benefits, all i can say is that it hurts to see how much clients are charged and how much we actually got paid...Although an international company, I saw zero chance mobility to other ERM offices worldwide.

Pros

Advertised as environmentally friendly company

Cons

Most senior partners are just looking to increase their bonus in the short term, without any investment on new partners. Very short sighted and lack of vision. Senior partners also don't know how to manage change in a growing company. Mostly, their mentality is a small mom and pop's firm and can't handle large projects or commitments. Also they are extremely adverse to what they call "risk". All other consultants are doing what ERM calls risky, so i honestly don't know where can they grow if they are unwilling to do the work.

Pros

Lots of excellent opportunities to meet smart, interesting people. Work on many different kinds of projects for high profile companies. Insight into many different industries.

Cons

Entry level pay is very low, and bonuses & raises are highly dependent on the performance of other people. Little room for growth, because they prefer to hire people into the company, as opposed to promoting from within. "Sustainability" mantra is only visible on the company signature, not in actions.
