Pros

- Overall, nice and generally competent folks. - Impactful work.

Cons

- Stagnant professionals that have been at the company for years get by just from their tenure despite not being great leaders or performers. - Low growth opportunities for high performers - Untenable KPIs they use to keep folks from attaining variable compensation targets - PE investor significantly changed culture

Pros

-Most of the people are great to work with -Interesting project work -Hybrid and flexible work schedule -Layoffs are usually focused on higher level staff vs younger staff that they over-hire -Benefits are decent -You can do really well if you have the right team supporting you. -You can work your way to good compensation and bonuses. I’m happy with what I make after a few salary increases and promotions, but I live in a lower cost-of-living area so other locations may be different. - overtime pay (this is a pretty recent thing and I think it’s great for field staff especially!)

Cons

- I don’t know anyone who had the right amount of work, people either had way too much or way too little - they have lofty “growth” (hiring) goals each year and bring on tons of staff, but don’t have work to support them. You end up having to compete with your peers for work if you don’t have enough. Oh and they have a dashboard that shows how your metrics compare to everyone else in the company. -upper management only cares about numbers and not what it means to be a sustainability consultancy -upper management doesn’t care about their smaller technical teams - even though those teams have high utilization and constant workflow. Trying to get software licenses and money to support technical teams has proven to be difficult. - new career framework added additional “half” steps within career levels, which makes promotions more difficult - too many people who are so obsessed with their job and are online 24/7 and also expect you to be -lack of admin staff so office management tasks and community events are often given to young women who are nice people and want to help (who also have high billable goals and don’t have time to help) - lack of connection between junior and senior staff. Junior staff attend office events and want to network, senior staff are “too busy” and don’t show up or just work from home all the time. - too much “hush hush”. Company-wide calls are really censored and they only share the questions that they can sound good answering. You never know when people are leaving the company or who was impacted by layoffs. Sometimes people are told to leave day-of if going to a competitor and you never see them again. - they don’t care to keep their employees. I haven’t heard of anyone that has received a counter offer salary adjustment when they say they have been offered another job (even incredibly talented, in-demand employees) -don’t expect a good raise if you perform well, but the company doesn’t -mandatory time off around Christmas without adding more pto to our benefits. This is problematic from a DEI perspective.

Pros

smart people, mostly mission driven

Cons

expectations for billable hours plus sales are unreasonable. lots of sharp elbows internally to get work or get hours.
