      Keep a paper trail!

      Pros

      Exposed to many different environmental opportunities.

      Cons

      Line managers will not keep their word. Keep an email trail to refer back to when promises are made. Will tell you first-year billable hours will not count against you and then use that as reason not to promote. You have to work 45-50 hours weekly for 52 weeks to be promoted.

      Pros

      Flexibility in location and hours is a major plus. I have worked from different cities and countries with no problems from the company. You can also work on some very cool projects if you put in the leg work to network and get yourself onto teams. The cool projects aren't always available however.

      Cons

      Benefits are mediocre. Pay is mediocre. Billable and sales targets are very high/aggressive and a constant burden - sometimes on a weekly basis, especially UB. I've been with the company 5 years, promoted once, and I think I'm ready to move on because the benefits don't outweigh the cons at this point for me.

      Pros

      Simply put, there is no better firm to learn, grow and be part of a thriving business with a growth mindset and most qualified associates. Prifessional growth is virtually unlimited with a Partner track as well as roles that are 100% commercial to 100% internal operations and many blended roles.

      Cons

      Consulting in general is not for everyone. Every Partner and non-Partner is accountable for their effectiveness in growing the top and bottom line, and filling out a time card every week. I prefer this vastly to private industry where your compensation and career growth depend more usually on politics and positioning.
