Pros

Environmental Systems Corporation (ESC) is an Environmental Software Company and a wonderful place to work! The President of the Company cares about the customers success by saying “Your Success is Our One Thing”. The Senior Leadership Team truly cares about everyone, welcomes creativity, and leads by example. The culture at ESC is the best I’ve ever worked for. The Training processes are great and really help people to transition into their position when coming on board. The managers are always willing to help and will take time out of their day to dedicate to helping you if needed. The Company has an Employees Actives Committee that plans fun events inside and outside the office, donates to charities, and celebrates at the end of the year with a holiday party. I’ve met some of the most talented people ever during my time at Environmental Systems Corporation (ESC). It’s also given me the opportunity for both lateral and upward career development. If you are a TEAM Player and want the opportunity to grow… You have found the right company.

Cons

The culture at ESC does not involve micromanaging. If you need a lot of guidance, it may be difficult since the managers entrust you make the right decisions and judgment calls. It's not to say you will not get help, they respect and value the decisions made to do right by the customers.

Pros

I worked at ESC for nearly 7 years in various departments including Software Support and the Software Engineering team. They honored my ideas, innovations, and suggestions on changes the entire time I worked there. I was given the opportunity to explore all the things I was interested in and I developed serious skills in the highly profitable Environmental Regulatory Compliance industry. Originally in tech support, I was permitted to rapidly expand beyond this to write educational courses for customers and employees, work on the software development team, and to be a critical liaison to the customer base. They are always open to new ideas, and supportive of whatever you can come up with that might benefit the company or work environment. The hours were good, I worked on average between 40 and 45 hours a week. With the occasional binge week here and there (a couple times a year). Pay was great. Lines of communication were wide open. The learning curve was quite steep, but that's a good thing if you love learning new things. I was never bored a day that I worked there. Recently management has invested a lot of energy and thinking into how to structure and manage their software development team. The changes have been well accepted and have greatly increased morale on the team as well as productivity. I left because I was pursuing other interest outside the industry. Would gladly join again in the future.

Cons

ESC is a relatively small company which has a lot of great things about it. You will never be bored, you get to see and learn a lot of things. The con would be that if you are accustomed to checking in the morning and only doing one thing all day without interruptions, then checking out, you will probably find this environment a little distracting. Worked out fine for my personality and skills.
