Pros

You can pick the days and classes you teach. I consider this a pseudo-volunteer position as the pay is less than 1/10 what I made previously, so as long as you accept that it can be a rewarding experience.

Cons

If you are doing this for the money you may want to find a different job. Also kids are extra unruly for substitutes so it can be a challenge to keep them in line. The biggest need is for the elementary age which I have found to require more effort and you have less chance to teach your expertise but I like keeping busy. Sometimes positions are just babysitting, which is fine if you are there for the money but I generally avoid those positions as I am not there to be bored.

Easy hiring process. Site navigation for choosing sub jobs is easy and user friendly. A lot of jobs to choose from depending on what district you work in.

Cons

Great place to work, I just wish subbing paid a little more.

They work with you and your schedule and are very understanding of any conflict in scheduling. Diverse work and opportunities to float from different schools or full time at one school.

Cons

Education in general could pay more
