Disappointing!

Pros

Flexibility...good for retirees who don't really need the money and want to stay active. Good supplement for someone who has another job.

Cons

Horrible customer service! You can rarely get anyone on the phone without waiting a very long time. You also rarely get responses to your emails. They do not have a selective hiring process, which seems to give the impression at the schools that we all are somewhat incompetent, the pay is terrible and they usually don't pay teachers who are certified any more than they pay subs with two year degrees. They make promises to school districts that they cannot fulfill and many classes do not have coverage as a result.

Pros

You choose grade, subject, day and school from job board. Work selection from pre-k to 12th grade. Supporting the teachers in their absence and educating the children is valuable.

Cons

Low pay and not guaranteed hours. The job feels like day labor, contractor work. Some classes can have behavior issues with students.

Pros

I am currently employed with a school.

Cons

My district switched all part time personnel to Source4Teachers just a I was hired. I've never met a single person at Source4Teachers - its all email and phone calls. Biggest concern is your paycheck - better be sure you check it every week. If you put in you want more tax taken out - you better make sure it went to Federal or State as indicated. See if it is correct. If it isn't, or if you have any problem, brace yourself for the 45 minute wait on the phone to get a live person. You'll become familiar with being 30th in the queue. Benefits? They get charge to a credit card or taken out of a checking account. I couldn't even get my pay to deposit in two accounts - it had to go in one. I won't begin to tell you the nightmare it took to get my name off the call list when I was assigned a place for the year - calls at 10 at night or 6 in the morning, and they kept coming no matter what instructions I followed. This place is a body shop, nothing more.
