Pros

I applied for the position online only to call and ask if all schools go through the website and it does. For me the website is very weird to figure out. but i go to the interview and then i will take it from there. I didn't realize the interviews location was not the city you will be working in.

Cons

They linked the mission one website with source for teachers website. That makes things really annoying and confusing.

Fulfilling work, but not because of MissionOne.

Pros

*Flexibility on choosing work location. *Fulfilling work.

Cons

*No formal training. (You learn dos and don'ts via word of mouth) *Too many employees assigned to one supervisor—very little contact or actual supervision given to individual employees. *No information given about child's abilities prior to assignment. (I understand there are legal reasons, but maybe a week before school meet up is in order.) *Supervisors do not know (or know very little) individual students being cared for by hired staff. *Little understanding about taking days off (when this is a position designed to have substitutes readily available.) *Little urgency to find substitutes if one does not fill the slot. *20 hours of outside training required each year to continue working for MisisonOne (besides online modules, nothing is provided or suggested. You're pretty much on your own.) *No performance-based raises offered. *Employees feel like warm bodies rather than valued professionals.

Disappointing!

Pros

Flexibility...good for retirees who don't really need the money and want to stay active. Good supplement for someone who has another job.

Cons

Horrible customer service! You can rarely get anyone on the phone without waiting a very long time. You also rarely get responses to your emails. They do not have a selective hiring process, which seems to give the impression at the schools that we all are somewhat incompetent, the pay is terrible and they usually don't pay teachers who are certified any more than they pay subs with two year degrees. They make promises to school districts that they cannot fulfill and many classes do not have coverage as a result.
