Pros

EverFi is trying to build a big company and the potential for the products are amazing. Office location is great. Great, smart and talented employees. Great place to work when you are fresh out of college. You'll get a lot of great experience you can use in the future.

Cons

Office politics are overwhelming here. Also, the culture is top-heavy and in my experience, borderline oppressive. Sales, sales, sales. We're an education company? You would never know it based on the company culture. No room for growth, no opportunity for professional development. The only way to grow professionally is to leave, which is what a lot of smart people are doing.

Pros

If I would have written this review 6 months ago, I would have had dozens of "pros" and not many "cons." How quickly things change. The main pro is you will be working with some talented, driven and interesting individuals. 98 percent of the employees have an incredible sense of humor who make the hectic times fun. As far as I know, the company is financially stable. You won't have to worry about not getting a paycheck. Benefits are decent. Health insurance, dental and vision is almost entirely covered. Dinner is catered once a week. Generally, the food is delicious. Great location in Georgetown and soon moving to a larger, nicer space.

Cons

The company is obviously experiencing some growing pains. Currently, it is like working for a large corporation with all of the drawbacks and none of the perks. There is virtually no career path. People are rarely promoted from within and when they are, they are often promoted based on personal relationships, not talent. Employees are underpaid and probably won't get a raise. If you do, you'll really have to fight for it. The work is often mundane. You'll be expected to work long hours. It isn't unusual for me to get an email Sunday night asking for work that needed to be completed by Monday morning. If you say no, there will be consequences. They claim to have a flat org structure when it is actually overwhelmingly a "top heavy". Just look at the number people with "Director" or "Vice President" in their titles. Its virtually everyone. Regardless, you might have at least four bosses and 3 out of the 4 will have little to no experience in their field. The emphasis is on sales and the bottom line, not education or technology. The sales cycle is long and often times frustrating. As is the product and technology because there aren't enough resources to support it.
