Pros
There is a high level of independence and a rare array of opportunities provided - I have worked with multiple client CXOs during my tenure here and many times with limited supervision. This has provided me an opportunity to grow professionally. The nature of projects at EXL provide a broad range of exposure - I have been fortunate to be part of multiple client projects across industries and geographies, each one of them varying in complexity, size, problem statement and environments. What keeps me going is that each of the consultants are given independence while collaboratively solving these problems – a "One for all and all for one" culture - the consulting team being a close-knit team has a familial feeling, which drives higher co-operation, a sense of belonging and greater results. Plenty of opportunities to grow and move with support from approachable leadership.
Cons
Like any other workplace, there are a few things that we (as a company) can do better at: 1.) Getting more structured in our approach and processes - this sort of comes with the start up and growth-focused nature of our business. As we outgrow our ambitions, the processes need to catch up 2.) Proper caree path definitions - many times we are too focused on findining almost all capabilities (sales, marketing, delivery, product development) in a single individual, which works for many and does not work for some. As we grow, we need to ensure that appropriate career paths are available for people according to their strengths and interest.
