Not really worth the time spent

Pros

The job is remote, which is really the only nice thing I have to say about the experience.

Cons

Roles/responsibilities constantly changing. A lot of wasted time in meetings. End up doing a lot of management work for them. Poor communication. In all the experience was all over the place, the role kept changing, consistently asked to do things not specified in the job description or that I had been hired for. Very unorganized. Bad follow-through on compensating me for extra work. It took months to get paid for additional work I had been asked to do. Even then the pay was not what had been promised. Management is all over the place, very poor and unprofessional work experience. When wanting to take time off, I had to give reasons why and plead my case as to why it was important. If you expect a remote job in which you have your responsibilities and you can clock in and work, and then work is done at the end of the shift, this is not that role. Management is far too intermingled in your personal lives, but in a manipulative way, to where they can put more responsibility on you. Compensation for the role is very low. I started through a temp agency and was promised I could renegotiate my salary if/when taken on full-time. Then was stonewalled when the time came, and given the run around of excuses. There is no opportunity for advancement. I took this job while a student, and it primarily served its purpose, other than making barely above minimum wage in my market. I would avoid it unless you really want a primarily remote-based work environment, with that being the only positive.

Pros

Top management comes from some of the top brands in the world and mentors newer members to learn from their experiences. Salaries are competitive with the marketplace and employees are furnished with the most popular hardware and software to do their jobs. The product is awesome and sells itself. The employee benefits include complimentary espresso and cold brew, employee showers, $5 a month parking downtown in a covered garage, and really nice office space. My favorite is that they donate money to plant trees for every new customer.

Cons

A lot of us are new which means building new processes but, at the same time, gives us the freedom to be creative.

Great Year so Far

Pros

Great benefits and pay especially for the San Antonio area. Including unlimited PTO. It has a relatively flat management structure with weekly visibility to the executive leadership including the CEO and his VPs. Also impressed by the diversity of the executive team which of the 5 VPs, includes 2 individuals of color, and a female.

Cons

Although they have gotten less strict on this, I wish they would let employees work from locations other than San Antonio or Beaverton.
