Pros

They trust you with real work; usually not busy work (if you prove yourself early on) You'll learn a lot They cater your work to what you're interested in Your hours are flexible

Cons

Disorganized (staff, the work, communication networks, etc) Your work may not be used; sometimes your projects will be thrown out with no discussion (per higher-level employees) Consistent micromanaging from senior management Unpaid No intention to provide or advise on professional development Hire so many interns (30 + for one semester) that they don't invest in each one individually or take an interest in who you are as a person

Very difficult to work here

Pros

The environmental movement is worth fighting for and I thought this was the organization leading the movement.

Cons

The work environment is horrible. There is no real direction - or too much conflicting direction from management. Goals change every week and no documentation or systems are in place to refer to if someone has questions. There is no process or training. I felt completely lost, useless, and unable to succeed. Partnerships are non existent. Or maybe I just never actually heard about them. The pay is very low. The hours are very long. There is no teamwork.......so don't expect much help. And no one can explain what this organization actually DOES!?!?!
