Terrible HR policies leading to bad employee morale

Pros

Great, dedicated employees who tirelessly sacrifice.

Cons

While other companies are giving out extra bonuses and raises in order to keep employees and reward them for their service in today's business-friendly tax environment, Eastman does all it can to short-charge employees of bonuses and raises. Eastman's healthcare plan is pathetic - we used to be able to save some money, but now it all goes for healthcare. Management at higher levels has lied to employees, and makes lip service to safety but we all know that production will win-out as the almighty dollar (for management, in terms of their UPP bonuses) trumps all. Most management decisions are based on the UPP - whatever puts more money into senior management's pockets. UPP is the bonus structure of senior management, while VPP is the bonus structure for working people...why the two bonuses? Should be fairly obvious.

Pros

Decent, hard working employees that for the most part are fully committed to the company. Unfortunately management will not reciprocate, either in terms of raises orpromotions.

Cons

*Grossly mismanaged from the top down. *Not giving freedom to new recruits to develop their talents. *Management is enamored with processes over results. *Employees are expendable when the first economic downturn hits. *Old fashioned mentality in doing business, and squeezing employees, suppliers and customers, until they have nothing else to give.

Pros

The pay is good and if you're not in CPE, you are probably treated better

Cons

Good ole boys run the show. Doesn't matter how well you do your job, if you disagree with good ole boys, you will NOT advance. My Team Manager was 73 and been there 40 years. There is a very hard worker and good man that works for him but he doesn't agree with the games they play, so the Team Manager is trying to get him fired. One lady he didn't like only got approved by him for 1 day bereavement for her husband's death. One lady he does like is off her job 6 hrs out of 12 smoking, sleeping, on the phone, or in dept her boyfriend works in. It's all about how well you suck up to him. The good employees suffer for it. Very sad
