Thanks for your review! Eastman is proud of the fact that we offer competitive pay and benefits to our team members across the world. While we appreciate your advice to management to "calm down," we believe now is the best time for us to be disruptive in our industry. The market is changing and our customers expect us to change with it. It's an exciting time and we have to change to stay competitive! We see that as a good thing!

No longer the company it was

Pros

There is still a dynamic work force at Eastman that are committed and talented. They represent the greatest aspects of what remains of this once wonderful company.

Cons

The company has become so top-heavy that there is no longer recognition for all of the extra hours, or multiple job roles being required to hold on to jobs. The cuts are taking place and unfortunately a lot of highly regarded and capable employees are looking for work elsewhere. Meanwhile, there seems to be a lack of commitment by upper management to trim their own fat.

Pros

My co-workers are some of the finest people I have worked with, including my time in the military. Many of them work hundreds of hours of overtime and strive to improve the processes and the work environment.

Cons

If you wear coveralls your opinion doesnt matter much. Much knowledge gained through years of experience is often ignored. Auto mechanics may not design your vehicle but they know how to keep it running. The same can be said for the operators. Yes, we are punching a clock, but we try to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.
