Pros

There are fewer and fewer. Good area to raise a family. Most co-workers are supportive.

Cons

Health Insurance deductibles continue to grow. People retire or leave for jobs elsewhere but the work is simply redistributed to those left behind. Any comment about I'm swamped or overloaded is met with a frown and a comment about not being a good team player. As reported in several newspaper articles top management over the past 5 years have seen a 56% increase in pay and bonuses. Those doing the work about 5% for the same 5 years.

Not the Company it used to be.

Pros

The company offers flexible work schedule.

Cons

HR policies are written so vaguely that HR managers interpret them differently and therefore, employees are not held to the same guidelines across the company. Pay for the area is competitive because the pay for this area is very low compared to the cost of living. Income inequality - bonuses used to be great for all employees but only those in management receive decent bonuses now.

Pros

Good area to raise a family. Okay starting pay. Lots of good people - easy to develop some great friendships. Lots of talented people.

Cons

While there’s lots of talented and smart people in management, it feels like more of an old culture where they are to be feared rather than seen as leaders there to help you grow and knock down roadblocks. There’s absolutely no reason knowledge workers should be required to work onsite. Most of those knowledge workers should have no real dress code. Career progression seems to be based on who likes you and how long you’ve been there.
