      Autonomy and talented colleagues in my department

      Cons

      Out of touch. What’s said and what’s done don’t line up. The executive team espouses the importance of developing people and career development yet they recently eliminated the Talent and Learning & Leadership Development functions. It’s also curious the number of female leaders impacted by these choices or offered early retirement in other parts of the organization.

      Pros

      The culture is one that does feel like family. Management is caring and hands on. High on accountability with an open and honest culture. Great work life balance.

      Cons

      Very male dominated with few opportunities for females beyond first level management. We hear a lot about equity but the org charts tell another story. Often females only reach higher level opportunities when they are at retirement age. Employees at their regional sites do not get the same opportunities, training, or visibility.

      Bad managers left in place for years Managers prevent team members from moving to other opportunities within the company Upper management is vindictive and childish Obvious favoritism Promotion pathways are only for favorites No real growth opportunities The people screaming and pounding fists on tables are all promoted to the top The worst group leader was promoted after her entire team quit A $3k deductible and $6k max out of pocket for a health plan is ridiculous
