Great company to work for now but concerned about future; Eastman can do better
Pros
-Great people to work with and learn from -Strong culture of teamwork and collaboration -Opportunity to rotate to new positions every few years while remaining in Kingsport -Opportunity for international rotations -Invest time and money in the professional development of engineers -Better than average job security and work/personal life balance
Cons
Recent changes to HR policies are concerning and include: -Forced employee ranking which is already poisoning the culture of teamwork and collaboration -Reducing or eliminating recruiting and hiring from many great schools in favor of hiring only from a smaller group of HR determined "focus schools" will reduce diversity of thought and skill -Focus on Health and Wellness, a worthwhile goal in concept, has been taken in some cases to an extreme of "fat-shaming" and/or invasion of personal health matters
