Pros

In general, Eaton's benefits package is okay and the company generally allows for good work-life balance. There are a decent number of good people to work with. Lower-level management is very employee-focused and genuinely concerned about the well-being of their workers.

Cons

Eaton is going through a multi-year restructuring. It's apparent that part of this re-org is moving many of its functions to India. This initially started with lower-level functions, but it has moved to engineering, and looks likely to continue. The poor quality of work produced outside the U.S. doesn't seem to be of concern to upper management as it most likely is made up for by the cheap cost of labor. This has resulted in a number of rounds of layoffs which will probably continue until the restructuring is complete in a couple of years. Eaton's North American workforce may be narrowed down to key personal and ITAR protected functions in the future.
