* Great work-life balance in most departments * Managers are fiercely protective of their people * Excellent learning experiences give the motivated employee a way to broaden their knowledge at a company that's unique in their sector

Cons

* Shockingly unprofessional management culture, top to bottom, including shouting and profanity on conference calls to clients and vendors * Stack ranked performance reviews * Antiquated, almost government-like "C.Y.A." culture that mires simple tasks in hours of pointless tedium * Weak pay and benefits * Entirely arbitrary and illogical titles and opportunities for advancement

Great coworkers; although they are rapidly abandoning ship. Its also a very stable job.

Cons

As far as tech companies go, echostar is a dinosaur. Outdated hr policies, poor benefits and almost zero perks. With newer companies offering better insurance, unlimited PTO, and perks like catered lunches, echostar will continue to be marginalized in this fast-evolving arena.
