Firm where individuals go to retire

Pros

- Great location and beautiful Chicago suburban campus. - Market leader in the industry it is in. - Work/life balance is possible - If you want to retire or are closer to retiring, it is a great place. Once people join the firm, they don't leave. More like a tenure professor mentality, do the minimum and get away with it.

Cons

- The company is very very very political. It is unfortunate because sometimes politics seems to influence decisions and projects, which is not in the best interest of the firm. - Too many layers of management. Very bureaucratic. - Senior management not in touch with reality. They like/or are surrounded by individuals who agree with whatever they say or do and paint a rosy picture. -Firm is driven by sales reps and sales management, who do not have a long term vision and are more concerned about satisfying customers short term, at the expense of future growth. - Employees are promoted mainly based on Seniority, NOT performance. If you would like to take an interesting assignment or be more upwardly mobile, then wait in queue for your turn. Your intelligence, smartness or capability does not have much to do, but based more on seniority.

Pros

Company vehicle and. Pcard for tools and business needs etc. Uniforms. Training will improve once travel restrictions are removed, good team in Florida

Cons

Work life balance, starting to micro manage employees, unrealistic budget increases 25% year over year. Our annual salary has OT baked into so its hard to have confidence in your salary when overtime could get cut

Pros

The job provides alot of personal freedom in allowing you to schedule your route how you see fit. Decent benefits. You get your own vehicle and don't pay for gas.

Cons

In recent years the company has started downsizing. It started about 4 years ago in our division. Went from a salary of about $42k+18% of all additional sales -which a decent worker could make about 80k a year with- to an hourly pay that fluctuates based on the amount of revenue you generate in a week. That system has now moved company wide for all field level employees and everyone has seen massive paycuts. This used to be a great company to work for because you could make awesome money. I make pretty good sales for the company, but the sales never seem to add up in my paycheck like they should. Any salary review you see pre 2019 is wrong. Expect to make between $48-$60k/year. Anyone who makes more than that just got lucky and has customers who spend LOTS of money.
