      Used to be a great career

      Pros

      Not many pros anymore, service job sold as a sales career

      Cons

      Reorganization eliminated my sales position and re-packaged it as a service position. Essentially demoted after 8+ years of being a top performer. Clueless management promoting inexperienced, young employees and turning their backs on loyal, devoted employees that have put up excellent sales numbers year after year

      Pros

      Matching 401k, Health Insurance and Benefits are good, Standard PTO and Sick Time off.

      Cons

      There is an insane amount of pressure put on the field to perform and meet metrics, some even sales driven, even though this is an hourly position. You are expected to be aptly mechanically inclined, while still having all of the admin and sales abilities down. They expect you to be in charge of installation of new customers, maintenance of existing customers (very normal to be running over a million dollar territory), selling within and outside of your existing customer base and all of the admin that comes with that, collection of AR from customers delinquent on bills, follow the confusing supply chain when your customers orders go missing, etc. All of these tasks for a pay that leaves A LOT to be desired.
