Pretty Comfortable

Pros

Work-life balance is good in that you’ll definitely have lull periods. Many more moderate days than overloaded days. Company is also switching to a model of having a dedicated remote CSA team cover CSA vacancies/extended vacations instead of asking remaining CSAs in the office to stretch themselves thin to cover. Dedicated managers are in place for CSAs rather than us being managed by our financial planners. This helps protect us from HR nightmares with planners (regarding pay, general treatment, and otherwise). Working in a branch location gives us nice separation from corporate bureaucracy. All the branches tend to manage themselves and if you have good people at your branch, you’re all set.

Cons

They struggle to fill vacancies and as a result hire a lot of people who aren’t talented. They then expect more skilled CSAs to be available to answer questions that are always coming from the same people. On a busy client day, it’s annoying to serve as an internal help desk. Salary could be higher but asking for raises isn’t an option right now since we’re owned by private equity and trying to grow. No real room for upward mobility unless you want to be a financial planner.
