Pros

Great clients and attractitve brand name

Cons

Little to no career path. 90% of the business they win is on their name alone, but I rarely ever saw any innovative thinking. Human resources dept doesn't "get it." They cozy up to the old boy network and worry too much about what very junior staff think.

Pros

Edelman has the best reputation among PR firms within the industry - and that shows when working there. Thought leadership, employee training and career development are all opportunities afforded by working for a privately held company that reinvests its profits.

Cons

Edelman is a large company with the usual amount of bureacracy and company politics. It's a place where you need to know what you want and go after it agressively - no one holds your hand.

Pros

Agency is independent and invests heavily in innovation Great client list and opportunities to work on interesting campaigns Smart people Great office Great benefits

Cons

Quality of work and atmosphere is very much dependent on the team Consumer team is particularly tough - lot of turnover Like all agencies, work hours can be brutal at times Management is spotty - some really strong, some really lacking
