Pros

I like the creative culture and all the wonderful perks the company offers us. I also like how Edelman welcomes diversity. It's awesome that we can dress casually too.

Cons

Extremely fast-paced environment--although not necessarily a "con." I really enjoy working at Edelman, it's the best job I've had--period, and I've been in the workforce over 10 years, and hands down, this has been my best corporate/working experience.

Pros

I have been employed at several well-known NYC agencies over the course of a long career, and Edelman is by far the best place I have ever worked. The "E" in Edelman stands for excellence. It is impossible to overrate the importance of the firm's independence and the outstanding leadership and commitment of the Edelman family. The firm is loaded with smart, creative people, who are challenged everyday to grow, learn, and give back. Hard work IS rewarded here.

Cons

After experiencing other typical NYC agency environments, ranging from tolerable to unbearable, I truly can't think of any "cons" that amount to anything.

Pros

Lots of resources to build strong campaigns for clients - different departments are encouraged to interact together to build ideas. Open door policy and all ideas are welcome. Strong clients across a variety of industry verticals.

Cons

Edelman tries to overexert itself to continue driving up revenues - revenues are all that matter and it's not about pleasing clients you already have. Slow, frustrating promotion system - you are only promoted when a team is ready to promote you and the promotion can fit it into their budget, not when clients or colleagues say you are deserving. Incredibly high turnover makes it difficult to stay passionate or inspired. It's "Show Up Differently" culture is a facade; that may work in small companies but creativity is all too often crippled by corporate hierarchy and "best practices."
