Pros

Their HR department is hands-down one of the best I've ever seen. Great conflict resolution, mentoring programs, and training opportunities.

Cons

It's just like any other PR firm. Significant demands on time, backbiting and territorial behavior in the office and among offices.

Pros

Excellent name to have on your resume, Edelman is a well respected company and has an incredible history. Junior staff team is generally very talented and hard working. Ability to work on some big client accounts, adding terrific experience to your resume. Agency is usually ahead of the curve in terms of its vision and work it puts forward, providing for exciting client projects and campaigns.

Cons

Senior management team is a mix, some are incredibly supportive, while others provide absolutely no support and have zero patience. Hours can be extremely long, I generally averaged 50-55 hours per week, and often went over that. Zero work life balance for the junior staff team, and probably for senior management as well as they often seemed ridiculously stressed. VP of the office (whom I believe is no longer there, but led the office while I worked there) was incredibly impatient, short-sighted, and lacked the ability to give junior staff team members proper time to develop their skills. In one single week, about five junior staff team members were fired to the surprise of many.

Pros

At Edelman, you have access to interesting clients and budgets as well as the opportunity to make a name for yourself as an internal expert if you're willing and able to share your POV. If you have a great manager, you'll have a great experience.

Cons

It's a corporate job, with the corresponding structure and limitations. If you're part of the tech practice but aren't using the latest tech, it can make for a frustrating experience. Some of the tech platforms used day-to-day are ~3-5 years behind innovative companies. This lag is also reflected in the services offered to clients. There's more variance in digital skills and a clear gap in what clients want, is sold in, and able to deliver, but that should iron itself out over time as more consultants develop digital expertise.
