A lonely road for rockstars

Pros

It is not normal for people to spend their entire careers at one agency. But Edelman has achieved a culture where many people are happy to stay. If you are a rockstar, you can beat your own path at Edelman. You will find people who are smart, driven, creative and focused on achieving real impact in the real world. You will find a vast base of clients who trust Edelman to steward bold ideas forward. Opportunities abound.

Cons

Middle management often pays homage to "big ideas" but, for the most part, perpetuates the status quo. Talented thinkers often find a way -- but too often, they're finding a way around their supervisors. Or, just as bad, they are given a green light but no resources to achieve their goal. Also, the cliquishness between divisions is borderline unbearable.

Pros

Great accounts, and great opportunities benefit from the Edelman work culture if in a large office with other departments other than Edelman Berland.

Cons

Complete lack of transparency; minimal concern for the well-being of employees; strange management behaviors that leave work culture hard to handle on a daily basis, and impossible to maintain long-term. Very high turnover.

Pros

Michael Berland is a high-energy, extremely accomplished go-getter and you're sure to succeed in credentials after meeting him. It's a highly sought after company to work for, and you will definitely grow.

Cons

Pay is abysmal and there are long hours. Some employees are left in the dark, and senior management forgets that many employees exist and they fall through the cracks.
