Pros

The people are great there

Cons

Too much work, too much overtime with no overtime pay, management has no vision. Pay is laughable for all the overtime work done.

Pros

Great resources, clients, networking and development opportunities. I had a wonderful experience working at a different Edelman office, where work-life balance actually existed. Pay was still low, but compensated for by being able to have a life and because the opportunities there were so great. Also, I felt like Richard handled the pandemic/layoffs the best way he could, and communication on that front was great IMO.

Cons

Pay is low. At the NY office, 1/3 of the managers and AEs would still be working at 8 or 9 pm each night. Unfortunately, the way the pay is structured, AEs and mid-level management aren't compensated for putting in those extra hours - it is simply expected of them "to get the job done." The pay structure takes advantage of these individuals who are pressured to be on call 24/7 and who regularly work 60-75+ hours a week. For the time and effort put into our clients, Edelman employees are vastly underpaid here. Ridiculous. This is why I left.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad to see you thought the communication about the pandemic and the firm's handling of it was strong; I agree. I see your constructive comments about work-life balance. We are having a lot of conversation about what the future of work looks like in light of all the changes of 2020, and we do very much care about employee wellbeing and fair compensation. We'll take your thoughts into consideration and we appreciate them. Take care. Maria O'Keeffe, US Chief Talent Officer

Pros

- Supportive Management - Account Diversity - High profile clients - Expansive network/you can find an expert on basically anything within the network

Cons

- Little to no work-life balance - An expectation that 40hrs a week is not enough / you're not pulling your weight - Can be a bit catty at times - SO MUCH micromanaging - Low pay

Mixed bag review. Most importantly, I'm glad that you feel supported by your manager, which is so important. I hope knowing that, you can have a conversation about work-life balance and maybe about the proper levels of oversight that work for both you and your manager to address the percieved micromanaging. If you don't know how to approach it, reach out to your HR/Talent partner who can help you with this. Good luck! Maria O'Keeffe, US Chief Talent Officer
