Pros

Best in class clients, colleagues and capabilities to do the best comms work; opportunity to do not just account work but also run a business - forecasting, profitability and prospecting.

Cons

No balance - if you’re a high achiever and strong performer, you’re run ragged. That also doesn’t equal fast track to growth: other lower performers get moved along at similar pace to “retain” talent.

Thanks for your review. It's nice to see a nod to the business of the business experience that working here can bring and I'm glad you're pleased with the type of work and colleagues you have. I agree that when you do great work, MORE people will want MORE of it. I hope you'll take seriously our sincere desire for employees to focus on your personal wellness, which includes balance. Through our Livewell initiative you'll find a bunch of resources that may help you define a workable version of balance that is meaningful to you, and will likely include some personal boundary setting. I know this is so much easier said than done, especially if you're ambitious, but everyone needs down time and routine rejuvenation; I hope some of our resources help you find yours. Pros

- You learn so much, so fast. - 2-3 years in an ageny like this is like 5 years in-house - You get accustomed work under pressure - GM and leadership are great. - Solid benefits -Location is prime

Cons

- Hours are long. But if you spend your time efficiently you are out at 5. - If you don't put in the effortand can't keep up, it WILL be noticed and you won't last long here. - Pay could be better but is still competitive - There are alot of supervisors but not alot of mid-entry level. Can feel like alot of eyes are watching you when in reality they can't perform the same tasks. - The desk areas gives off a solid Office-Space vibe. Can be very dull.

Pros

Smart people, great opportunities, a lot is expected of junior levels, direct client interaction from day 1, learned a TON, promotions often, great on a resume

Cons

Basically a sweatshop. I never got out of my desk and was expected to be on my phone at all times. Emails were sent late into the night. For what you are getting paid (not much and less than other agencies), it’s not worth it to completely lose your life. Highly competitive (not in a good way). Not a good working environment.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts - the good and the bad. It's great to hear how much you learned and were trusted with and how many opportunities you were able to take advantage of. I just wish it didn't come at the expense of your personal life because you're right - that kind of work-life balance isn't sustainable. While we have a number of parameters in place within finance, HR and management to try to keep the burn-out at bay, I hope you'll consider reaching out to share any other ideas you have at maria.okeeffe@edelman.com.
