The work itself was meaningful and I genuinely enjoyed supporting my clients. Many coworkers were collaborative, smart, and helpful. The role can be rewarding if you like owning programs and solving problems.
Cons
Management was the biggest issue and made the environment stressful and discouraging. Unprofessional behavior was normalized, including gossiping about employees, petty decision-making, and obvious favoritism. Compensation became a point of tension. After negotiating my starting salary, it was repeatedly used against me in conversations and treated like a personal grievance instead of a business decision. Bonus and performance reporting lacked transparency. My numbers were reported inaccurately, which directly impacted my ability to earn incentive pay. Overall, it felt less like a results-driven culture and more like navigating personalities.
