Employees can switch departments easily when there are relevant openings. Referrals for new employees are encouraged and rewarded with $1000 or $2500, depending on the position.
Cons
Middle managers are of inconsistent quality. If you work for a bad one, your experience here can be vastly different than someone else's. Sometimes it is a mystery why some people get promoted when even a quick peer review would have revealed misgivings about the person's competence.
