Above Minimum wage pay (approx. $10/hr) No bachelors or associates degree in education needed (90+ cr hrs are required) You do get paid

Cons

Outside of being on list with their name associated it with it, they do not represent you at all! If a child or teacher simply doesn't like you they can put in a complaint and eliminate one of the venues or districts you can teach in. There is no verification of what has happened in the class room, nor do they ask questions, they simply boot you out without any possibility of returning. EDUStaff's default position is to assume that the substitute is in the wrong and probably stupid.

Pros

Flexible hours, easy pay. Working as a substitute teacher can be very rewarding and lucrative! It also gives you the opportunity to view the workplace.

Cons

Hard to plan work days, and vacation days as well. You are confined to the schedules of other employees, and that makes your life a challenge to plan!

Company is taking the student/teacher relationship out of subbing.

Pros

Ability to work around personal schedule. Picking school systems that have decent students/staff (which are few and far between).

Cons

Company has taken ability to build student/teacher relationship with kids therefore whenever you come into a class kids treat the time as a playdate. Permanent teachers are continually rude during lunch, get used to being considered a second rate citizen. Good luck with management mentoring/guidance, consider yourself a free agent of the outsourcing of school services epidemic.
