Pros

Training for license was excellent.

Cons

The Senior Financial Advisors use the new hires to prospect new clients and at the end of one year drop the new hire and take the business.

Pros

Lots of support available to learn the role and handle job responsibilities. Job was interesting and personally beneficial. Opportunities for additional pay exist (bonuses), but it is at the discretion of the Financial Advisor.

Cons

It is vital to have superb chemistry with the Financial Advisor. Edward Jones model is to have small branch offices with one Financial Advisor and one Branch Office Administrator. This makes it challenging to have flexibility for time off - someone needs to be in the office all the time. Edward Jones' technology systems are strong - but you can't use tools that are normal in other companies (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.).
