Pros

I worked full-time for this company for 3 years as a BOA (Branch Office Administrator) and cannot find one good thing to say about the company and would strongly recommend to anyone not to work for this company. I would have given "0" stars if that was an option.

Cons

This company is very old-fashioned with values to match. First of all, pay is WAY below average. Second, because of the way the branch offices are set up there is daily opportunity for abuse of the BOA by the Financial Advisor and abuse happens all the time but goes unreported because the BOA's are afraid of losing their jobs and their benefits. There is no support from the Home Office even though they talk about it like there is but it is a fallacy when actual abuse is reported. The Home Office ALWAYS backs the Financial Advisor. Most of the branch offices are two person offices it ends up being the BOA's word against the FA's because there are no witnesses and no way to prove anything. The FA's know this and use it to their advantage. It is a huge secret in this company and needs to change.

Pros

Amazing Opportunity to help people, the company and yourself. Unlimited earnings potential. Partnership structure. Initial training and ability to call home office for support is also amazing--everyone wants to help.

Cons

Terrible work life balance. New laws and structure make it very hard to make a living for the first 3 to 5 years. Lots of stress and pressure to perform. Clients constantly cancel appointments. Thick skin required! This is a numbers job. If you don't like door to door sales or telemarketing, this is not the job for you.

Pros

EDJ is great for the late career changer. All training is in house and plenty of extra training help is available. I was 54 when I started and after 5 years I have never looked back.

Cons

The Financial Advisor world is rapidly changing. Competition is real. Although EDJ does a great job implementing upgrades one must remember that this is a BIG company and some changes take a long time. Not a big deal really.
